i replaced my rooter clutch and tested to do my possess little "how to" so present it isengine was running super calorific while sitting, but while in motion stayed unemotional for well-nig of the clock.... so that immediatly told me i had a bad winnow clutch, and the fact IT wouldnt click on, and the fact alot of these very helpfull mrmbers happening here helped Maine diagnos the issue

looking pretty sulfurous "post replacement"went and picked up a Hayden Winnow Clutch from O'Reilly's Autoparts $59.99
![]()
then rented the fan get hold of tools from O'Reilly's $74.99, rotund reinburstment when returned in 48hrs
![]()
so i let the Hummer sit for abit and chill then i would have a gracious and cool engine to work connected...
then when i went to harness it i separate the Radiator top hose for a easy removal of the fan mainsheet
![]()
next i slid the tabs on the cerement to twist the upwardly thus on that point would be enough cleance to get the shroud out and around the winnow (you lav locate the lozenge on the passanger broadside of the hide and just push down along the locking mechinism then slide up money box you bank slideway no more and make a point the bottom of the shroud is twisted prepared and then the shroud will come out nice and sluttish with enough cleance, relest the two tabs you need to pop dormy happening eachside of the shroud as comfortably)
![]()
one more matter is i took hit my radiator cap to give alittle more cleance to get the tack out
and then have sure you take it out carefully not to break or damage the radiator Beaver State anything other in the process, and eruption, its prohibited
![]()
once its out, the fun begins, youll be looking at this then

didnt get a chance to take fulfi shots but to take it away you volition need to do this... economic consumption the 36mm provided in the fan cling to puppet kit that was rented or bought, and put it on the grasp nut, i found that if you employ another clutch tool provided in the case, big enough to go around the 4 bolts tush the old sports fan clasp by the curving belt its easy to deduct, so you put the 36mm happening the fan clutch nut and the bigger fan cling to joyride to go around the 4 bolts, its a super skin-tight fit but itll work, you wanna push the 36mm tool towards the passanger side of the vehicle, just equal taking a systematic bolt off, and reserve the otherwise tool in place around the 4 bolts so itll unbolt, youll notice its tough indeed hit it with a hammer if you give notice to pop information technology loose, once its loose your golden...
![]()
youll be left with this, those are the 4 bolts i was talking about, incomparable is concealing behind the place you just unscrewed.
to take out the secondhand fan clutch you need a size 13mm wrench, and jus unscrew completely four.
![]()
so directly you have this, my fan was super dirty then i jus wet it up and dried it sol it was nice and dirt free then i went ahead and installed the rising fan clutch in, and pretty much jus reversion the steps from here...
![]()
red-hot ones in, and contented with it, now the reinstall... make sure the 4 bolts are snug on in that respect.
![]()
just spin information technology back on and be carefull non to cross train of thought, when it gets fully on, give it a couple tightening tugs to see to it the fan clutch freak is happening securely.so be sure to reinstall the fan shroud and twist the bottom back to its home spot and snap in the two corners and the 2 bottom pins, reinstall the top radiator hosiery, look back and see that coolant levels are angelic, if not replenish as necessary..
then turn the Hummer on and listen thereto fan blow.
![]()
been 2 days since the install was done and wont go above 1/2 on the temp estimate, so all in all, really happy![]()
hopefully this is helpful, if anyone has anyother suggestions happening this action delight dont hesitate to comment
